SummaSocialSee how it works

The Catholic public square.

SummaSocial is social media in the shape of X — follows, posts, replies, quotes, profiles, discovery — built for Catholics who want truth, reason, and faith in the open. On the web and native apps, with the same features everywhere. Not a private chat server. Not a political party. A square where the Church’s people can speak.

Catholic life online is scattered and compromised.

General platforms treat faith as fringe or as a moderation problem. Political clones treat Catholicism as a costume for a party. Parish apps and Discord servers are useful — and they are not a public square. Creators broadcast on a dozen silos. Families, converts, and clergy who want honest conversation get algorithmic sludge, cancel culture, or faction bunkers.

You shouldn’t have to choose between being heard and being faithful — or between free speech and a Catholic home.

How it works

  1. Claim your place

Create a profile. Follow Catholics and Catholic-friendly voices you actually want to hear.

  2. Speak in the open

Post, reply, quote, and share links like a real public square — visible culture, not a locked group chat.

  3. Find your people

Discover writers, apostolates, parishes, and lay voices through search, follows, and curated lists — not rage bait alone.

  4. Stay Catholic

Clear identity and guidelines rooted in the faith; room for argument; no cafeteria vagueness and no fake magisterium.

Features

  • Home feed

Chronological-first option; follows you choose, not a black-box that hates your prayers.

  • Posts & threads

Short-form public speech with room to develop an argument.

  • Replies & quotes

Disagreement in the open; cite and answer, don’t only dunk.

  • Profiles

Who you are, what you believe you’re about, links to parish/apostolate/site.

  • Follows

The graph is the product: build a Catholic information diet on purpose.

  • Lists / Communities (phased)

Start with lists; add communities/courts when moderation and discovery are ready.

  • Discovery

Search, trending-within-norms, suggested faithful accounts — growth without selling out the soul.

  • Media

Images and short video when infrastructure allows; text-quality first.

Trust & faithfulness

SummaSocial is unabashedly Catholic. We are not a neutral “spirituality” network, and we are not the Church’s teaching authority.

  • We will not pretend defined doctrine is optional branding.
  • We will not turn the product into a political party or a single influencer’s machine.
  • Governance leans toward free speech and voluntary association: lawful disagreement on prudential matters is not “hate”; harassment, doxxing, and exploitation are not “debate.”
  • Ecclesial independence: SummaSocial is a lay-built public square, not a diocesan communications office — and not a rival to the Magisterium.

Faithful. Open. Ordered to truth.
